Imagine my delight when I tuned in to Charlie Rose’s interview program (www.charlierose.com) on PBS last evening and saw Governor Sarah Palin (www.gov.state.ak.us). She was one of Charlie’s two guests, the other being Governor Janet Napolitano of Arizona. The two Governors were in New York City to attend the 3rd Annual Women and Leadership Conference sponsored by Newsweek at the American Museum of Natural History (www.amnh.org).

Sitka (www.sitka.org), Alaska’s 4th largest city, is one of the most charming seaside towns in Alaska. It sits on Baranof Island with a backdrop of glacier-capped peaks. The tops of 2 extinct volcano craters are visible.
September 11, 2001, is a date that is firmly etched in my heart and mind. I was far away from home, and as circumstances developed, had no means of letting my family know I was safe. You would think at the least that a travel professional would have an emergency notification plan. I did not.
In the beginning, man lacked access to halibut. So Raven went to see Chief Cormorant as he sat in his fine canoe pulling in halibut after halibut.
Invited aboard, Raven sat for a long time looking hungrily at the gleaming catch at his feet. “Chief, I’m starving! May I have just one small halibut for my supper?”

The agreement, which establishes a sister-city relationship between Barrow and Long Beach, California, creates a challenging new title for the team, The Long Beach Armada of Los Angeles California United States of North America Including Barrow Alaska. Even the acronym is a mouthful–LBALACUSNAIBA.
